In the prestigious setting of the Villa Reale in Monza, Jacopo Foggini’s light redefines the space through the installation of the Brilli collection. Thin methacrylate rods, shaped by hand, are combined to form pure volumes that evoke the cut of large precious stones. The handcrafted irregularity of the material lends the works a suspended dynamism: the light does not simply illuminate, but caresses the space, filtered through the polymer’s heterogeneous hues. In this dialogue between classical references and oriental influences, the collection’s seven chandeliers emerge as timeless, sculptural sculptures. With their smooth geometries and surprising visual lightness, Foggini’s “Brilli” transform the Villa’s historical legacy into a contemporary stage, demonstrating how avant-garde design can elegantly inhabit both a modern skyscraper and a 17th-century residence.
