The installation is located in a transitional space leading to the museum galleries. The staircase is wrapped in transparent red polycarbonate elements, arranged in the form of suspended structures. The composition accompanies the vertical path towards the first floor, defining an immersive environment. At the top, a small opening offers a first glimpse of Caravaggio’s Martyrdom of Saint Ursula, located in the adjacent room. The installation establishes visual continuity between the staircase, the intermediate space, and the exhibited work. The purple color recalls chromatic elements present in the painting. The vertical development emphasizes the perception of ascending movement. The work is handmade by Jacopo Foggini in his Milan workshop. The formal irregularity derives from the artisanal polycarbonate processing.
