In this collection, Curly, a deep connection resurfaces with Turin, my hometown, and with its Baroque architecture, characterised by tension, rhythm and light. Not a reference, but a memory that takes the form of crowned candlesticks, composed of thousands of rods that trace curves adorned with capitals reminiscent of the Corinthian style, with curls and loops that unfold like acanthus leaves.
The colours are light ochre and amber hues, alternating with transparent shades, punctuated by matt blacks and dark amber. When illuminated, the lighter rods glow, whilst the darker ones absorb the light and become saturated. During the day, the candlestick changes in depth and tone; at sunset it takes on a warmer hue; when lit, sharper and more dynamic contrasts emerge. There is no fixed appearance, but rather a continuous variation.
